My name is Corey Trice and I am a recovering school hater. When I was in high school, now ten years ago, I couldn't wait to get out and away from that place. In fact I was unfairly expelled from my senior year of high school and a month later was offered the chance to come back and finish out the year. I had already enrolled in the county's teach yourself program and only had to complete 1-1/2 credits to graduate. I also had a full-time job and a part-time job and said "Thanks, but no thanks." So I finished my 1-1/2 credits on my own and graduated with my class at the end of the year.
I think I hated school so much because I was bored with it. I rarely did homework because it seemed like a waste of time. However I usually got good grades on tests which got me through most classes, and made me believe further that homework was useless and handed out by teachers just because they didn't know what else to do.
Now ten years after high school I have decided to go back to school. I am enrolling in the Web Design & Development online program for a BS degree at Full Sail University. I have never been this excited to go to school in my entire life. I can't wait to get to work on this program. It is a topic that I have been interested in for the past ten years and one that I have taught myself a lot about. I have stacks of books on code and pro-level programs that I have used over the years to teach myself what little I know compared to what I'll be able to learn in college.
One of the reasons I've decided on Full Sail University's online program is because of the speed and layout of the courses. There are 27 months of courses with one class every month. This means that I won't get bored with the classes because they will be intense and short. I'll be moving on to the next course before I know it and learning new things.
Keep me in your prayers as I start this new journey over the next several weeks. Thanks!
